GENELEC KICKS
IT UP A NOTCH!
We are pleased to announce the
installation of a new GENELEC "Triple Play " Monitor
system featuring a pair of the awesome Genelec 1029A
biamped/powered monitors, augmented by a 5070A powered
Subwoofer. We've been admirers of the Genelec line for
years, at trade shows and at fine studios, and now we've
got them here! Clients have been quick to notice and
applaud the improvement in control room monitoring.

MORE INTERNET
CONNECTIVITY
Our Verizon DSL line now has a wireless access point.
In addition to our semi-Web-dedicated Mac G3 terminal,
feel free to bring your Wi-Fi / Airport equipped laptop
and surf as you work!
MORE ONLINE
HD STORAGE
We have just augmented our online hard drive storage
capacity on our main system with a 200 gigabyte, 7200
rpm Firewire drive. This is in addition to a 40 GB system
drive and 44 GB fast LVD SCSI drive, and will allow
us to deal seamlessly and time-efficiently with the
huge project files that are now becoming typical in
the DAW-based recording world.
NEW ADAT
LX-20
Over the years, we have maintained ADAT compatibility,
as a number of our clients need it. Most recently we
have installed a brand new ADAT LX-20 recorder, featuring
improved transport speed and 20 bit compatibility. Need
to mix your ADAT project in a heavy duty Pro Tools environment?
Look no farther!
CLIENT
NEWS
Filmmaker Todd Solondz and composer Eytan Mirsky came
in to record vocals and mix music for an upcoming, as
yet untitled film.
Ronnie Lawson Productions continues
to rock the industrial house with recent shows for FedEx
and Astra Zeneca, among others.
Piadrum Records has brought
in a string of projects, including Max Roach and Abdullah
Ibrahim's "Streams of Consciousness" (we remastered
for CD release, with special thanks to Mark Berger at
Transfermat at the Toy Specialists), Achille Gajo Trio
(we mixed and mastered) and an upcoming Charnett Moffett
CD Release.
Singer/writer Larry Kirwan spent
some weeks here doing overdubs for the latest Black
47 release, produced by Stewart Lerman.
Singer/songwriter Steve Tannen
did numerous overdubs here for his just released, much
anticipated 2nd CD "Stopped At A Green Light".
Producer/Composer Everett Bradley
brought in "Our Songs" a CD written in collaboration
with members of the "Our Time" theater company, to mix
and master.
Singer/songwriter/instrumentalist
Diane Haroutunian was in to record mix, and master "Gakavig"
a collection of new and traditional songs in Armenian,
part of an ongoing educational outreach project.
Singer/songwriter Meg Flather
and guitarist/singer extraordinaire Vicki Genfan were
in to record some of Meg's new songs- perhaps the first
glimpse of a new release for Meg?
THE MASTERING
ROOM
Recent mastering projects include: Banjoist Ben Freed's
ferocious "Suite For Bluegrass Banjo" which includes
some not-to-be-believed playing by cellist Rushad Eggleston,
as well as star turns by Kenny Kosek, Barry Mitterhoff
and Jon Sholle, to name but a few... While in the bluegrass
vein, we were also very pleased to master "The Badbelly
Project" by banjoist/guitarist/singer Tom Hanway, featuring
the legendary Vassar Clements on fiddle, and recorded
and produced by Lincoln Schleifer. Also, producer Dan
Martin and artist John Pollard brought in Outmusic's
Compilation CD for mastering, a frankly dazzling assortment
of music by artists in the gay and lesbian community.
MISCELLANEOUS
KUDOS
We wish to congratulate JGMP clients Holly Lamar and
Sarah Nagourney, who BOTH have cuts on the current #1
Country album by Wynonna Judd!
Also congratulations to Suzanne
Vega on the release of "Retrospective" - a compilation
album which happens to feature quite a bit of guitar
work by Jon Gordon from back in the day... Well, that's
it for now.
Take care 'til next time!
